News & announcements
Maifest 2012
Every year around this time we are
inviting our members and their families to join us at our
traditional Maifest celebration to hang out, enjoy some
German food and have fun. This event also marks the end of
the school year.
We hope you will be able to come on
Saturday, May 19th at 10:15am.
This year we have an additional
"schmanker'l" for all soccer fans, especially the FC
Bayern München (FCB) fans. We are
setting up a public viewing area in one of the class
rooms to show the UEFA
Champions League final between FCB and Chelsea, which is
broadcasted live during the Maifest.
The game officially starts at 11:45am.
Call for Maifest Volunteers: It is a
community event and your help is critical to make it a
success.
To our members:
Have you done your mandatory volunteer hours this semester?
If not, this will be your last chance for volunteer
credits!
To sign-up please read the list below and reply to
annetteg@sbds.org. Or
you can use
SignupGenius instead.
Parking: If needed we'll try to
make additional parking available, and please be respectful
when driving or parking in the neighborhood.
We have a Winner in the
T-shirt Design Contest!
We know you have been anxiously waiting for the results
of the T-shirt design contest. You submitted a lot of
wonderful designs and it was very, very difficult for the
jury to decide, so it took us a little extra time to select
the winner.
First place goes to
Stefanie Gueorguieva Congratulations!
This is the winning drawing:

We can not accept any more orders, but the T-Shirts will
also be available at the Maifest and if interested then they
can contact our office.

Our Library Online
In
a first step to bring our SBDS Library online as an
additional service for our members, we have created a list
of the content in our library, which includes Books, CD's,
DVD's, and Magazines.

Volunteering
One reason why our school thrives is
because of You! Without your help, many things would not be possible,
in particular our baked goods sales during recess. These funds are then used
for our traditional events, such as the Christmas Party or the Maifest.
To make it easy for our members to signup
for volunteering, we created an online sign-up site for Saturday
tasks and cakes. Please
click
on the SignUp Genius logo below to go to the
website and follow the istructions.
