We thank our partners and sponsors, including  GASANC, ZfA, IBM, SCU, and UGAS. We could not do it without their help because our Saturday School can only exist and thrive through close cooperation with other organizations, like high schools, colleges and universities to promote the German language and culture.

A prime example is the long term partnership with the Santa Clara University (SCU), where students with a Major in German Studies assist in our classrooms.

Your Voice

We are planning to establish a permanent corner on our school homepage (this page you are looking at right now) where we would like to publish some quotes and comments from our students about our school.

For the first round we would like to get your feedback in just one sentence answering the question: What you like or enjoy the most at SBDS?

Please send your quotes to info@sbds.org.

Please read: When you participate and send us your quote, you agree that your quote and first name can be published on the SBDS homepage.

WWW.SBDS.ORG turns 10!!!

It is hard to believe, but our school website celebrates its 10th year in 2014.

In Internet time, this is already a pretty  long existence. Do you remember what the Internet looked like back in 2004?

To give you an idea, facebook.com was launched the same year and so was flickr.com, myspace.com was just one year old, yahoo.com just turned 10, youtube.com didn't exist then and launched a year later and twitter.com came to life two years later in 2006.

We are looking for a Backup Webmaster for the school website. If you are interested, please contact info@sbds.org.

Job Openings!

We have an immediate opening for a Teacher and an Assistant for an Adult class.  Please click here for more details about these two positions and how to apply.

Volunteering @ SBDS

The success of our school is largely reliant on parents and members being actively involved. Consequently SBDS needs your help and participation.

Volunteer Sign-ups are ALWAYS available during recess time, through email, or online

Did you renew or update your eScrip membership?

Have you renewed your Safeway membership in your eScrip account this month?  This is important to continue to earn a contribution to SBDS when you are shopping at Safeway.

So, if you are an eScrip member, please make sure to loginto your account and update your card(s) and adjust the percentage of the proceedings that SBDS should benefit from, if necessary!

Download our eScrip Flyer

New to eScrip?

If you are not yet a member of eScrip, please take advantage of this free program that can earn our school valuable money for art and school supplies, books, etc.,  depending where you shop.

Please register your Safeway card with eScrip, www.escrip.com and list SBDS (Group ID: 5534135) as the beneficiary.

Also register your credit and debit cards. If you register your credit card with eScrip, SBDS gets a percentage of your purchase every time the card is used at one of almost 100 different merchants, like Whole Foods, Lunardis*, Macy's or Big O Tires, etc.

* Did you know that Lunardis carries a nice variety of German Delicatessen?

For a complete list of merchants, go to www.escrip.com/merchants/search.

Thank you very much for your continued support.
