::Herzliche Einladung zum SBDS-MAIFEST 2006!
This coming Saturday May 13th our School will celebrate
the end of the school year 2005/2006 by reviving an old
German Tradition: A “MAIFEST” - a festival with wonderful
German food and many different traditional activities. School
will start that morning, like on all the other Saturdays,
at 9.00 am. The students will go to their classes and at
approximately 9:15 all of the classes will go with their
teachers and meet in front of the Maibaum to receive their
class certificates. At approximately 9:40 the children's
classes will go back to their rooms with their teachers.
The rest of the classes will help in putting the individual
activity stations together. By 10.30 am we will begin the
official opeining of the Maifest with student achievement
awards and teacher recognitions. The school yard will be
filled with students, parents, siblings and children that
are ready to learn about German May traditions hands-on.
The teachers and board members invite all of you to fun
stations, offering everything from Folk Singing to a “Kirschkernweitspuckwettbewerb”
from “Kaffeklatsch” to Soccer and Flower Braiding … At
approximately 12.00 pm we will start a traditional German
BBQ with Bratwurst and Sauerkraut!
