::PRESIDENT’S CORNER

Dear Students, Parents, Teachers, and Friends,

Following Thanksgiving, it is customary for our school to look ahead to our end-of-the-year Christmas Party on December 3. Preparations are underway - in our classes and among your board members and volunteers - to make this a typical “Deutsche Weihnachtsfeier.” It will take place in the school cafeteria on the Willow Glen Middle School campus.

It is also tradition to include in the last annual issue of Kaleidoskop, a very special thank-you to our students, teachers, parents, and friends. Without your active involvement in and outside the classroom we would not be able to provide a stimulating and safe learning environment. Let’s continue this tradition in 2007!

::ANNOUNCEMENTS

Invitations have been sent out for our Christmas Party, which will take place at the Willow Glen Middle School cafeteria. Date: Sunday, Dec. 03, 2006 Time:2:00 pm - 4:00 pm Location: Willow Glen Middle School.

A little detail for our Christmas Party: Due to the delicious cake donations and the tasty Saint Martin’s breads and goodies, we know that our school has a strong team of gifted bakers. To make this year’s Christmas Party as “gemuetlich” as possible, we are inviting you to bake home-made cookies and goodies for the festivities. It would be very helpful to our dear kitchen elves, if you can bring your “donations” to school on Saturday, 12/02!….mmmmh, the good smell and the even better taste of all these treats will be very rewarding for all of us! Please e-mail our Events Director Silvia McCracken to let her know what baked good you will bring.

We are holding a holiday raffle during the Christmas Party and would like to ask our members for prize donations. Please bring your items no later than Saturday, December 02 to the school break room/office area.

After the Christmas party, there will be two remaining school days before the holiday break, Saturday December 09 and Saturday December 16.

School resumes on Saturday, January 6, 2007. First semester ends on January 20, 2007.

First day of second semster begins on January 27, 2007 Our next Parent Morning will take place on March 3, 2007.

St. Martin's Celebration 2006

A big THANK-YOU to all of you who participated, baked, volunteered or helped in any other way to make this year’s Saint Martin’s Party a great success. A special Thank You goes to Peter Weiss for preparing and serving the delicious hot refreshments for the celebration and to all of our bakers who generously contributed their time and efforts to make this event the highlight of November.


E-Scrip Fundraiser

Please remember to sign up for our E-Scrip program! This is also an important avenue to raise money for the school. Signing up is easy, simply follow the link below and register. Every purchase you make at any of the major grocers and retailers sponsoring E-Scrip will generate a percentage of the sales towards our school. Albertson's Fundraiser:

To participate and earn money for the school, participants need to sign up their Albertsons' Preferred Savings Card. This can be done either Albertson's online or through a mail-in registration form. We will make these forms available at school. If supporters have been issued a replacement Preferred Card after registration, they will need to re-register in the Community Partners program with the new Preferred Card.
